Notes From Our Governor!
Hello, District 77 Toastmasters!
If you have not yet completed your personal Toastmaster goals, I trust you are closing in on them. The District set high goals for Sign Up for Success:

What does Toastmasters International sa the District needs for success? 86 clubs, 3,032 membership payments, 104 CCs, 29 ACs. The District is currently 81 clubs strong -- we need 5 more clubs. We have 1,378 paid members -- we need everyone to pay April dues plus at least 258 new members. We have 53 CCs -- we need 51 more. We have 22 ACs -- we need 7 more.
No matter how you graphi it, we are not done yet. It would be great to have District 77 walk across the stage at the International Conference in Orlando in August as a Distinguished District.
Winter club officer training is concluding. The TLIs are designed to help you do a better job in your Toastmaster role, and to provide insights to help in your leadership roles outside the club. There is always more to learn. If you want a refresher, a reminder, or just more information, you can check out the TI website. There is lots of information there, such as the Club Leadership Handbook. Or check out the club training materials. I think you'll find lots of useful materials on the TI site.
This is an exciting time in the Toastmaster year. Speech contests are beginning in the clubs, then the area and division contests follow. In May, at the Spring Conference, the District will hold both the Evaluation Contest and the District-level International Speech contest, where the winner represents District 77 at the International contest in August. Be sure to check out the current rules for contests, whether you are competing or judging or just learning. It's a free digital download for members from TI.
Okay... We know the challenges. Let's do our best to complete our goals and, in turn, be part of a Distinguished District 77.
Sincerely,
Sharon Johnson
